After working for 15+ years in the interior design industry while growing our own busy families, we've seen firsthand the need for functional storage solutions. Our goal is to create beautiful, functional spaces for our clients to organize their lives and grow. As cousins, we are excited for our local, family-owned business to deliver a worry-free, hands-on professional experience to our clients in RDU and the surrounding communities. Kristen Schenk
President/Owner
Kristen’s unique combination of roles has led her to the custom closet industry. After years of experience in business management and human resources, she opened her own interior design firm. In that role, Kristen designed, renovated, and styled homes around the country. That experience opened her eyes to the need for function in the midst of beautiful spaces.
When asked, “What inspires you?” Kristen loves to bring calm to the chaos by going into a client's home and learning how they live in their space so she can create a solution that’s functional and beautiful. When she isn’t designing custom closets, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids, traveling, and looking for unique antiques.
Carisa Dodson
Vice President/Owner
Carisa comes to Inspired Closets with 15 years of diverse experience in interior design and construction. Most recently, she was the designer for a design-build company where she enjoyed creating spaces to solve functional dilemmas. Carisa loves working closely with customers to create spaces that are both functional and beautiful.
When asked, “What inspires you?” Carisa tells us she is inspired by the joy people express when their spaces are complete and they truly love where they live. In her free time, Carisa enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, traveling, and cooking meals from various cultures.

Lisa Whitfield-Jacobs
Designer
Lisa joins the Raleigh team with an interior design degree and 8+ years of experience in the closet design industry. In her role at Inspired Closets, she especially enjoys turning a client's chaotic space into an organized oasis.
When asked, “What inspires you?” Lisa shares that she adores seeing a project come together from the initial measure to the final reveal with happy clients. Lisa lives on a family farm with her two kids, numerous pets, and a little livestock, too. When she isn’t designing closets, she enjoys cooking, horseback riding, and going to the lake.

Tyrone McIntyre
Installer
Tyrone joins Inspired Closets Raleigh with years of carpentry and closet installation experience. He loves seeing all the different closet designs and the “wow” moment when he reveals a finished closet to the client.
When asked, "What inspires you?” Tyrone tells us he’s inspired by the art of building. He enjoys the challenge of taking a design and creating something out of nothing. When Tyrone isn’t installing closets, he loves spending time with family and going to movies with his girlfriend and cousin.
Carmen Powell
Installer
Carmen comes to Inspired Closets Raleigh with a background in closet installation. He loves interacting with customers and seeing a space transform from cluttered and overwhelming to a beautiful, organized closet.
When asked, “What inspires you?” Carmen shares that he’s inspired by quality, attention to detail, and consistency. When he isn't installing closets, Cartmen loves spending time with his tight-knit family, playing the drums and the keyboard, landscaping, and fishing.
